Ford reveals the all-new E-Transit Custom

18 May 2022

The all-electric version of the UK’s bestselling vehicle is coming soon

Almost 54,000 Ford Transit Customs were sold in the UK in 2021, and now Ford are paving the way for UK businesses to significantly reduce their emissions whilst keeping their favourite van.

The E-Transit Custom is the first of Ford's 7 new all-electric vehicles that will be hitting the roads across Europe by 2024. You can read about the other 6 here.

The E-Transit was the first all-electric van on Ford’s fleet with production starting in March this year. The reveal of the E-Transit Custom so shortly after highlights Ford’s bold commitment to reach zero emissions for all Ford vehicle sales in Europe and carbon neutrality across its European footprint by 2035.

There are also plans for electric Transit Courier vans, as well as Tourneo Custom and Tourneo Courier people movers.

A look at the new distinctive new E-Transit Custom

What can you expect from the E-Transit Custom?

New Look

There’s a new front-end look with a prominent grille drawing similarities to the latest Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus and Ford Tourneo Connect. The charging point is located on the front right-hand side of the E-Transit Custom for easy charging access when parked.

Long Range

The range is estimated to be up to an impressive 236 miles and capable of DC fast charging, making it an extremely capable and practical electric van for all business needs.

Technology

The van will also be available with Pro Power Onboard technology, which means users have the capability to plug-in electric tools, lights, laptops or other devices while on site.

The van will of course be built with intelligent software and Ford Pro. This includes a range of fleet management tools – such as Ford Pro E-Telematics and FordPass Pro. The technology helps increase vehicle uptime and maximise productivity of the van and the business.

Inside is expected to match the E-Transit with a large touchscreen running Ford's latest Sync 4 infotainment system.
